Privacy Policy

TerrainIQ · WildBone Outdoors LLC · Last updated: July 16, 2026

The short version

TerrainIQ has no accounts, no logins, and no user profiles. We do not sell your data. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not run ad networks. Your markers, cameras, photos, and notes are stored on your device — not on our servers.

The rest of this page explains that in the detail Apple and applicable law require.

Who we are

TerrainIQ is developed and operated by WildBone Outdoors LLC ("WildBone," "we," "us"), an Oklahoma limited liability company.

What TerrainIQ collects

Location data (precise)

TerrainIQ is a terrain-analysis tool. It cannot function without knowing where you are or where you are pointing the map. With your permission, the app accesses your device's precise location to center the map, show your position, provide driving directions, and analyze the ground around a point you select.

Location is used for app functionality only. It is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you. We do not store your location history on our servers.

You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Map viewing still works; features that depend on knowing where you are will not.

Photos you add

Trail camera photos and images you attach to markers are stored locally on your device in the app's own storage (IndexedDB). They are not uploaded to us. They are included only in backups you choose to create.

Markers, cameras, and notes

Everything you place or write in the app — markers, camera locations, names, notes, chains, scouting data — stays on your device.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email, phone number, or address (except if you voluntarily email us or submit a form on our website).
  • No account credentials — there are no accounts.
  • No contacts, no health data, no financial data.
  • No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics SDKs. No ad networks.
  • No cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind.

Third-party services the app calls

To analyze terrain and display maps, TerrainIQ sends requests to outside services. These requests generally contain coordinates — a location on the map — and, as with any internet request, your device's IP address is visible to the service receiving it. They do not contain your name, an account ID, or your photos.

Each service handles data under its own privacy policy. We do not control those policies.

Requests are made only as needed to serve a feature you are using. Where the app can cache a result on your device, it does, to reduce repeat requests.

Website forms

If you enter your email address into a form on our website, that submission is handled by Netlify Forms and delivered to us. We use it to reply to you or to notify you about TerrainIQ. We do not sell it or add it to any advertising list. Ask us to delete it at any time.

Subscriptions and payments

TerrainIQ subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or handle your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple provides us only aggregate, anonymized sales reporting. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

Because your app data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting a marker deletes it. Deleting the app deletes everything the app stored, including photos in local storage. We cannot recover it for you, and we do not have a copy.

If you emailed us or submitted a website form, email contact@wildboneoutdoors.net and we will delete that correspondence on request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost no personal data about you, most of these rights are satisfied directly on your device. For anything else, contact us and we will respond.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

Children

TerrainIQ is rated 4+ but is designed for adult hunters. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

App data is protected by your device's own security — passcode, Face ID, and iOS storage protection. Network requests use encrypted connections (HTTPS) where the service supports it. No system is perfectly secure, but we minimize risk by holding almost nothing: there is no user database to breach.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this website before they take effect.
